ประวัติหลวงปู่อิ่ม ปญฺญาวุโธ เดิมชื่อนายอิ่ม นามสกุล วุฒิพงศ์ เป็นบุตร นายเอี่ยม นางช่วย วุฒิพงศ์ 

เกิดเมื่อวันพฤหัสบดี ที่ 6 ธันวาม 2459 เมื่ออายุ 17 ปี ได้บรรพชาเป็นสามเณร โดยพระครูรังสรรค์อธิมุตต์ เป็นพระอุปัชฌาย์ ณ.วัดยางค้อม และมีโอกาสได้รับใช้ใกล้ชิดพ่อท่านคล้าย

เมื่ออายุครบ 20 ปี ได้อุปสมบทโดยมีพระอาจารย์ปลอด วัดนาเขลียง เป็นพระอุปัชฌาย์ ณ วัดยางค้อม และเมื่ออายุ 21 ปี ได้ลาสิกขาไปช่วยพ่อแม่ทำสวน เมื่ออายุ 69 ปี ท่านจึงคิดว่าจะบวชอีกครั้ง เมื่อวันที่ 17 มิถุนายน 2527 โดยพระครูเชาวนาภิธาน เป็นพระอุปัชฌาย์ ณ วัดยางค้อม เมื่อ พ.ศ.2536 ท่านได้มาเป็นเจ้าอาวาสวัดทุ่งนาใหม่ ตำบลยางค้อม อำเภอพิปูน จังหวัดนครศรีธรรมราช อริยสงฆ์แห่งต้นน้ำตาปี เมื่องคอน อายุ 104 ปี ศิษย์พ่อท่านคล้าย วาจาสิทธิ์ วัดสวนขัน

หลวงปู่อิ่ม ปญฺญาวุโธ พระดีเข้มขลัง ติดตามพ่อท่านคล้าย วาจาสิทธิ์ ตั้งแต่เล็กจนโต หลวงปู่อิ่มได้นิมนต์พ่อท่านคล้าย วาจาสิทธิ์ มาสร้างโบสถ์ที่วัดทุ่งนาใหม่ ต.ยางค้อม อ.พิปูน จ.นครศรีธรรมราช หลวงปู่อิ่ม ศึกษาพุทธาคมจากพ่อท่านคล้ายพอสมควร หลวงปู่อิ่มได้มอบที่ดิน ถวายในหลวงรัชกาลที่ 9 เพื่อสร้าง รพ.สต.ชุมชนบ้านทุ่งนาใหม่

อากาศร้อน ลูกศิษย์พาตาหลวงอิ่มมาอาบน้ำคลอง อายุ 104 ปี แต่ท่านยังแข็งแรงมาก

แม้ท่านจะมีอายุมากแล้ว แต่ยังอาบน้ำเองได้อยู่นะ แข็งแรงมากๆ

พระที่ธรรมดาที่สุด ในความธรรมดา เเต่มีดีไม่ธรรมดา ท่านยังปฏิบัติกิจของสงฆ์อย่างมิขาด กวาดวัดเป็นประจำทุกวัน ต้อนรับญาติโยมที่มาอย่างไม่ขาดสายตลอด หลวงปู่ไม่เคยถือตนเป็นผู้วิเศษเลย
